The City of Victorias, in time for the birthday of Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, gives priority to its constituents’ health through various medical activities under the Wellness Program for Progress (WPP) initials that correspond to his name. Now on its 11th year, WPP continues to promote overall wellness in cooperation with the different sectors and organizations. Last Feb. 12, a motorcade kicked off, followed by a short program at the Victorias City Public Plaza. After the opening program, a bloodletting activity was held at Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center. In evening of the same day, the “Victorias is for Jesus” Praise and Worship Night took place at the Victorias City Public Plaza. The annual WPP medical mission offered free services to poor beneficiaries such as dental/tooth extraction, circumcision, general consultation and eye screening, therapeutic massage, haircut ear piercing, and the giving of free eye glasses, medicines and slippers was held and the feeding activity at Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center last Feb.13. Another Medical Mission which included minor surgery and circumcision sponsored by Dr. Pablo O. Torre Foundation and LTC Nelson L. Gerona Crusade, Inc. was held at the Victorias Arts and Cultural Center last Feb. 14 followed by the Search for Mr. and Ms. Valentine in the evening. On Feb. 15, the “Food Para Sa Kabataan Party” was held at Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center. In the afternoon was the Agri-Eco Tourism Business Seminar at the VMC Golf and Country Club while at the Public Plaza, there was the giving out of free street food sponsored by the Victorias City Plaza Vendors Association. Meanwhile, the mass and culmination party was held at the Victorias City Sports and Amusement Center in the evening.
