
During the City’s regular flag ceremony today, Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel L. Benitez presented certificates of appreciation to former Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca and former Vice Mayor Jerry Jover for their loyal and dedicated service rendered to Victorias.
The members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City, headed by Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, also presented Resolution No. 2022-100 to Mayor Benitez congratulating him for being the youngest elected President of the Negros Association of Chief Executives.
Two of the City’s pride in the field of Sports were also recognized during the flag ceremony – Palarong Pambansa VisMin Boxing Cup (Bantam Weight Junior Division) Champion and Gold Medalist John Steven Demaisip and the Victorias Football Club, Champion of this year’s Negros 7’s Football League Division 2. They will advance to the nationals representing the City and the Province this September.
In his message, Mayor Benitez called for unity under the banner of the new administration as he reminded the City’s public servants to continue their service with a smile and build better habits in providing better service to Victoriahanons. He also mentioned the importance of competency and moral values of public servants but most importantly the right attitude towards others and towards work. Mayor Benitez will meet up with the department heads for a thorough discussion on his administration’s priority agenda.

The Mayor shared his activities last week and informed the public of this week’s VFRB dry run for new tricycle terminals to improve the traffic situation around the VCC area; encouraged everyone to get their vaccine shots/boosters; and announced that all public schools in the City are already cleared and recommended for face-to-face classes this coming August including most of the City’s private high schools.
Mayor Benitez concluded his message by saying “The result of good work is the opportunity to do more.”
