City Mayor Javier Miguel L. Benitez was one of the resource persons of the New Breed of Leaders, New Brand of Good Governance Panel Session during the Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers PH (OSHDP) Summit 2022 in Bohol.
Mayor Benitez shared his insights at the 3-day OSHDP Summit which aims to address issues, identify solutions, and find the best practices in making housing affordable for every Juan.
In response to the national challenge of Zero Informal Settlers by 2028, Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel L. Benitez, City Engineer Mary Jean C. Majaducon, and Ma. Josefa V. Padernal, Executive Assistant IV to the Mayor, assigned to the City Housing and Homesite Regulation Office (CHHRO), participated in the Affordable Housing Summit 2022, made possible by the Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers PH (OSHDP).
During the whole-day program, various subject matters were discussed, in line with establishing affordable, sustainable, and humane housing projects, as well as addressing the housing crisis, and scaling up the production of houses throughout the country. City Mayor Javier Miguel L. Benitez also shared his insights as one of the resource speakers in the forum with the theme, “New Breed of Leaders, New Breed of Governance.” In this segment, the City Mayor emphasized the importance of digitalization in the context of addressing housing needs in the local government unit and the efficient administration of governmental services.
Other important topics included developing a sustainable real estate market in the country, the digitalization of government processes connected to housing, and the utilization of Blockchain and virtual currency in real estate. Moreover, public agencies have also made clear their intention and commitment to work hand-in-hand with local government units, the private sector, as well as with the Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers PH (OSHDP) in eliminating homelessness all throughout the country.
All the issues discussed and addressed, as well as the connections made with key housing companies and industries, will certainly be of great significance in the improvement of the housing situation in Victorias City.
