287 NEW TRICYCLE FRANCHISE HOLDERS RECEIVE MTOPs IN VICTORIAS CITY

A total of 287 tricycle operators were formally awarded their Motorized Tricycle Operator’s Permits (MTOP) of tricycle franchise in a distribution ceremony held at Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center, June 17.
Victorias City Mayor and Congressman-elect Javier Miguel Benitez led distribution along with SP Committee Chair on Transport and Traffic Management Councilor Eric Alcobilla, Councilor Dino Acuña, and Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) Head and City Administrator Atty. Lindolf de Castro.
The awarded franchises were carefully reviewed and validated by the Victorias Franchising and Regulatory Board (VFRB) and the BPLO, and approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
These franchises stemmed from previously surrendered or revoked permits from former franchise holders, ensuring a thorough and transparent process of reallocation.
In his opening message, Councilor Alcobilla expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Javi and Atty. Lindolf for their support in granting opportunities to new franchise holders.
He reminded the recipients to take responsibility for their new privilege and to diligently maintain their permits.
Mayor Javi, on the other hand, showed his appreciation to the transport sector for their continued efforts in maintaining road safety and for catering to the daily commuting needs of Victoriasanons.
He assured tricycle operators that their rights and welfare will remain protected under his leadership, and that the City Government will continue to implement and strengthen programs that uplift their livelihoods.
In recognition of their hard work, the Mayor emphasized the importance of building a more organized and efficient traffic system in Victorias, where every stakeholder is empowered and supported.
The event, spearheaded by the BPLO in coordination with the VFRB, underscores the City Government’s commitment to inclusive economic opportunities and strengthened regulation in the transportation sector. *
