HANDS-ON BOOKKEEPING TRAINING EMPOWERS LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS IN VICTORIAS

In response to the high demand among local entrepreneurs, various small business owners in Victorias participated in a free Bookkeeping Training organized by the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) on June 13 at the Pavilion II of the Victorias City Aquatic Center.
The basic bookkeeping workshop was conducted by Michael Baylosis, CPA, PhD who currently serves as the Management Accounting Department Chair of the Yu An Log-College of Business and Accountancy at the University of St. La Salle–Bacolod.
Bookkeeping emerged as the top-requested training during one of the ongoing masterclasses with GCash, where participants identified it as an essential skill for local business sustainability.
This initiative marked the second Seminar and Workshop on Bookkeeping for Business Start-Ups, Microenterprises, and Multi-Sectoral Associations—designed to provide Victoriasanon MSMEs with practical financial management tools to strengthen their business operations and ensure long-term growth.
Among the participants were members of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Association, Hda. Sta. Cruz Farmers Association, Brgy. VI-A Pasil Fisherfolks Association, Pagatpatan Fisherfolks Association, Sitio Sool Farm Workers Association, Sitio Sool Fish Workers Association, Hope for the Women’s Fisherfolks Association, Canetown Women’s Association, and other newly registered micro-businesses in 2025.
Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer Paolo Valladarez, JD, MBA, delivered the opening message on behalf of Mayor and Congressman-elect Javier Miguel Benitez.
