MURAL PAINTING CONTEST MARKS CULMINATION OF ENVIRONMENT WEEK

Victorias City concluded its Environment Week celebration with a vibrant and meaningful Mural Painting Contest, transforming blank spaces into vivid expressions of environmental advocacy, held on the walls of Victorias Elementary School on June 6.
The contest gathered local artists and youth talents who showcased their creativity while promoting environmental awareness through powerful visual storytelling.
Mural #4 by Paulo Ofianga won first place, with Mural #2 by Joebert Soriano in second and Mural #8 by Noel Binaohan in third, set to receive Php 5,000, Php 3,500, and Php 2,500 respectively.
Five participants are also set to receive consolation prizes of Php 1,000 each, recognizing their efforts and contributions to the initiative.
The murals revolved around the Environment Week celebration's theme, "Beat Plastic Pollution," creatively highlighting the urgent call to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable practices.
The major prizes were sponsored by Victorias Milling Company, Inc. (VMC), a member of the Environment Week Committee and an active partner in advancing the city’s environmental initiatives.
This culminating event not only brought color and life to the school walls but also served as a lasting reminder of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment.
The murals now stand as public displays of advocacy, inspiring Victoriasanons to stay united in shaping a cleaner, greener future. *
