PESO VICTORIAS LAUNCHES AYOS PROGRAM FOR SENIOR HIGH GRADUATES

In line with the city’s commitment to youth development and inclusive employment, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Victorias City officially launched the Augmented Youth Opportunities for Students (AYOS) under the PESO Youth Employment Support Program at Gloriville Subdivision on May 26.
A total of 50 Senior High School graduates have been selected as this year’s AYOS beneficiaries.
The program, anchored on City Ordinance No. 2021-07 authored by SP Committee Chair on Education, Labor and Employment Councilor Derek Palanca, aims to provide temporary employment opportunities to disadvantaged youth in Victorias.
The ordinance recognizes the crucial role of the youth in nation-building and underscores the city’s support for students in need of income augmentation to help them complete their education.
Under the AYOS Program, beneficiaries will be assigned to various local government offices and departments of the City Government of Victorias.
Each student will render ten working days of service and receive a daily wage of Php 480, amounting to a total of Php 4,800 for the entire employment period.
In his message of support, Councilor Derek commended the youth for stepping up and participating in a program that not only enhances their practical skills but also enables them to contribute to the community.
“This initiative is more than a financial opportunity—it’s an investment in the dreams and potential of our young Victoriasanons,” he said.
The AYOS Program prioritizes youth from vulnerable sectors, including dependents of displaced workers due to eviction, business closure, or calamities, solo parents and their children, orphans under the poverty threshold, persons with disabilities, and children from indigent families.
The PESO Office, led by PESO Manager Faith Bacucang, continues to serve as a vital bridge in linking students to employment pathways, ensuring that every Victoriasanon youth has the opportunity to thrive. *
