THIRD DISTRICT ELECTS VICTORIAS CITY MAYOR JAVI BENITEZ AS NEW REPRESENTATIVE

Incumbent Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez was officially proclaimed as the Congressman-elect of the Third Legislative District of Negros Occidental, Negros Island Region (NIR) during the proclamation ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol on May 13.

Mayor Javi secured a landslide victory with a total of 200,044 votes, accounting for an overwhelming 92% of all votes cast for the congressional seat in the Third District, which comprises the cities of Victorias, Silay, and Talisay, and the municipalities of Enrique B. Magalona and Murcia.

The newly elected congressman expressed his gratitude and optimism through a message on his official Facebook page, highlighting his commitment to empowering the youth and delivering inclusive development.

“Ini ang mangin tion nga ang tingog naman sang mga pamatan-on ang mapamatian! The future is now and we are leading that brighter tomorrow para sa tanan nga pumuluyo sa Tersero Distrito!”

Known for his strong digital governance initiatives, people-centered programs, and youth-oriented leadership, Mayor Javi is expected to bring fresh energy and innovation to Congress.

He is set to succeed outgoing Congressman and now TESDA Director General Jose Francisco "Kiko" Benitez, continuing the family’s legacy of public service in the district.

With a strong mandate from the electorate, Congressman-elect Javier Miguel Benitez is poised to represent the voices of the Third District and champion policies that will benefit the Tersero Distrito. *
