VICTORIAS CITY PROMOTES RABIES AWARENESS THROUGH POSTER MAKING CONTEST

Victorias City, through the City Veterinary Office, celebrated Rabies Awareness Month 2025 with a Poster Making Contest at the Victorias City Public Library on March 28.
The competition focused on the theme "Rabies Free na Pusa't Aso, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino" to promote awareness and education on rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership.
A total of 19 students participated in the contest, with 10 from the elementary level and 9 from the high school level, showcasing their creativity through visual design and concept execution.
Jaeden Bliss Balding secured first place in the elementary category, followed by Chrismiel Relan Salar in second place and Rashmita Dineshwaran in third place, all from Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI).
Mariel Babor of Victorias National High School (VNHS) secured first place in the high school category, with Louisse Aliyah Macalalag of DBTI placing second and Zhia Zinneth Liza of DBTI placing third.
All winners received cash prizes and certificates, while non-winning participants were awarded consolation prizes and certificates in recognition of their efforts.
Judges for the contest included Dennis Valenciano, Angelica Alvior Pacheco, and RG Russell Sumugat.
The event aimed to encourage responsible pet ownership by emphasizing the importance of rabies vaccination and prevention measures such as avoiding stray animal contact and seeking medical care when necessary.
Through initiatives like this, the City Veterinary Office continues to strengthen its advocacy for a rabies-free community while fostering artistic expression and public awareness among the youth. *
