Victorias City Commemorates 127th Philippine Independence Day

Victorias City proudly commemorated the 127th Philippine Independence Day in a solemn and meaningful ceremony held at the City Public Plaza on June 12.
With this year’s national theme, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”, the celebration served as a powerful reminder that the liberty Filipinos enjoy today is both a product of our shared past and a guiding force toward a better future.
Mayor-elect and incumbent Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III delivered the keynote message, stating, “We are here not just to remember history but to live up to its meaning,” emphasizing the importance of honoring the sacrifices of our forebears through responsible citizenship and service to the nation.
The ceremony featured a wreath-laying tribute led by city officials to honor national heroes and patriots who fought for Philippine independence with a parade of the country's revolutionary flags.
A 21-gun salute followed, serving as a symbolic gesture of respect and gratitude to the country’s fallen heroes.
Tingog Sang Kadalag-an champions Rolly Beloria, Ella Mae Depacaquivo, and Angela Ayola performed a Makabayan song to add to the patriotic spirit of the program.
The event was attended by barangay officials, representatives from DepEd, both private and public schools, senior scouts, prayer leaders, national agencies, and various sectors of the community.
Victorias City’s Independence Day celebration not only honored the past but also reaffirmed its dedication to building a future rooted in freedom, unity, and shared responsibility. *
